Club Fleeces

Q: What do I actually need for my first lesson?
A: If you’ve never ridden before, there’s no need to go all-out and buy all the kit straight away. However, there are a few essentials!
Comfy trousers - leggings or joggers are best, if you don’t want to buy jodhpurs or breeches. Make sure they’re full length, or the saddle might rub your calves.
Boots with a small heel - something like chelsea boots is good. Not your best pair though! It’s a riding school, not a night out. Our Instagram has some examples.
Warm clothes for the colder months - anything that can be fully zipped or buttoned up, so that nothing flaps. This is both a safety hazard and could spook the horses!
Gloves - often the reins can rub your fingers, but also in the cold you’ll struggle to ride if you can’t feel your fingers
Hard hats are available to borrow at the riding school.
Q: Where can I buy my own equipment?
A: At our riding school, Busby Equitation Centre, there is an on-site shop called Everything Equestrian. GURC Members all receive 10% off purchases, and they stock everything you need to get started - boots, hats, gloves, jodhpurs, crops…
Q: Do you have club merch?
A: OF COURSE! Take a look at our suppliers’ stores above.
